A Humanist Wedding in the Mountains – Monika & Zain at Kocierz Hotel & Spa
A Symbolic Wedding Surrounded by the Beskid Mountains
The decision to hold a symbolic, humanist wedding often comes from one simple desire – to celebrate love in a way that feels honest, relaxed and deeply personal. For Monika and Zain, this meant an outdoor ceremony surrounded by the calm of the Beskid Mountains, where nature became a natural witness to one of the most important moments of their lives.
Their wedding took place at Kocierz Hotel & Spa, a location known for its breathtaking views, forest surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. Nestled high in the mountains, the venue offered the perfect balance between elegance and nature, allowing the ceremony to feel intimate, warm and unforced.

A Bilingual Humanist Ceremony – Two Languages, One Story
This symbolic wedding ceremony was held bilingually – first in English, then in Polish – so that every guest could fully experience the emotions, laughter and meaning behind the words. With loved ones arriving from different countries, language became not a barrier, but a bridge connecting everyone present.
The ceremony itself was informal, light-hearted and gently humorous, reflecting Monika and Zain exactly as they are. There was space for smiles, for laughter, and for moments of quiet emotion – without stiffness, without unnecessary formality, and without pressure.
Autumn colors set the tone: shades of orange, green and beige blended beautifully with the mountain landscape, creating a warm and natural visual harmony.

From Shoes to Forever – Their Story
Before the serious talks about life together, shared travels and their beloved cat Otis, everything began… with shoes. Literally.
They met while working in a shoe store, back when neither of them could have imagined how deeply their lives would one day intertwine. At first, there were no sparks of romance – only workplace tension, misunderstandings and a fair amount of frustration. If someone had told them then that they would one day stand together, exchanging wedding rings in the mountains, they would have laughed it off without hesitation.
Everything changed once the work dynamic disappeared. Conversations flowed differently, without pressure or expectations. Slowly, naturally, something real began to grow.
Their first proper date came later – simple, easy, full of laughter and good food. From that moment on, they did what felt most natural to them: they stopped overthinking and simply chose each other, again and again.
They built their relationship through everyday moments – spontaneous trips, longboard rides, concerts, food festivals and evenings spent surrounded by friends. Their home eventually gained a new, four-legged ruler – Otis, the undisputed king of their household.
Of course, love also meant learning each other’s habits: Monika’s love for order, Zain’s ongoing attempts to quit smoking, shared cooking sessions that sometimes turned into true kitchen experiments. Yet through all of it, humor remained their secret weapon.
Monika learned to appreciate Zain’s ability to make her laugh at any time of day, his big heart and endless curiosity for the things he loves. Zain found in Monika honesty, warmth and a sense of home he never had to question.

A Proposal with a View
The proposal happened far from everyday life, surrounded by nature and silence. After exploring caves together, they stopped at a cliff overlooking a breathtaking landscape. Monika sat calmly at the edge, unaware that Zain was about to face both his fear of heights and the biggest question of his life.
When he went down on one knee, the moment felt surreal. And just when the answer “yes” filled the air, a group of hikers nearby broke into applause – strangers, accidental witnesses, but completely invested in the moment.
It was spontaneous, emotional and perfectly theirs.

A Symbolic Wedding Ring Exchange
During the ceremony, Monika and Zain exchanged wedding rings – a timeless symbol of love, commitment and continuity. Their circular shape reflects something they both understand deeply: love is not about perfection, but about choosing one another every single day.
Surrounded by mountains, autumn air and the people closest to their hearts, they began a new chapter – not just as partners, but as husband and wife.
